Tasting Notes

Deliciously outrageous. e nose is perfumed and complex, mixing blackberry, plums, dark fruits with spice, hints of mint and chocolate. e palate really sings, showing great intensity of fruit, plums, blackberries with a hint of liqueur intensity.

Small batch open top ferment, soft pump overs and minimal plunging, basket pressed with ferment finishing off in barrel. Matured for 18 months in French & American oak, with 25% new wood component, bottled unfiltered.

Based on the famous show wines created by the late Max Schubert during the 1960’s. is is our take on this classic Australian blend. Vineyards sited in alluvial deposits along the banks of the Gawler River set the scene for this elegant, supple and fleshy wine.

About The Winery

A classic selection of Adelaide Plains old vine vineyards each bringing its own personality. Angle Vale provides 60 year old vines pocketed in thick-set red clay and loams. Whilst further north along the banks of the meandering Gawler River we have 60 year old vines sited in lighter Gawler River Alluvium sandy loam. on.
