2015 | Possum Creek Malbec | Wine of Barossa Valley (12 Bottles) | Australian Wine Online

Description

It’s certainly a big, rich style but it’s no sledgehammer - it’s more refined than most. The structure of this wine is outstanding, literally. The super-fine tannins deliver an encore that ties all that fruit together beautifully. You could hardly call this a subtle wine, but rather - a gentle giant.

Possum Creek Vineyards, situated in the Rocky Valley, North-East of Menglers Hill, were planted by Gottlieb Vorwerk in the 1860's. The vineyards were sold at auction to Herb and Agnes Schilz (daughter) in 1938, then in 1978 to the family of Lorraine and Murray Heidenreich (great grandson). Today the replanted vineyards comprise 26 hectares of premium Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Chardonnay, Semillon and Riesling.
